Donald Trump is set to host UFC Freedom 250, a seven-bout MMA event on the White House South Lawn on June 14, timed to coincide with his 80th birthday and America's 250th anniversary. The $60 million spectacle marks the culmination of a decades-long relationship between Trump and UFC, dating back to 2001 when he allowed UFC to hold matches at his Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City at a time when the sport was banned in 36 states and struggling for legitimacy. UFC president Dana White credited Trump's early support as a critical opening that helped the organization survive.
