WNBA playoffs, Aces-Valkyries score: A'ja Wilson, short-handed Aces aim to even series in Game 2

The Las Vegas Aces, reigning WNBA champions, are aiming to even their playoff series against the Golden State Valkyries in Game 2 on October 8, 2026, after losing Game 1 by 10 points in a performance head coach Becky Hammon described bluntly as subpar. The Aces will be short-handed, as Jewell Loyd suffered a left leg injury during Game 1 and will not play. The Valkyries are looking to extend their home-court advantage, having posted a strong 17-5 home record during the regular season.
