Women's Giro d'Italia 2026: Demi Vollering snatches win on final stage to complete Grand Tour trilogy

Dutch cyclist Demi Vollering won her first Giro d'Italia on Sunday by overtaking race leader Anna van der Breggen on the final ninth stage. Van der Breggen, a four-time champion aged 36, had led since stage four and held a 49-second advantage over Vollering heading into the last stage. The 29-year-old Vollering completed the Grand Tour trilogy, joining compatriot Annemiek van Vleuten as the only female riders to have achieved this feat.
