At the Botswana Golden Grand Prix on April 26, 2026, American Olympic 200m champion Gabby Thomas broke the 11-second barrier for the first time in her career, winning the women's 100m in 10.95s (-0.4), ahead of compatriot Cambrea Sturgis (11.07). In the men's 100m, Canada's Jerome Blake set a personal best of 9.93s to edge Ferdinand Omanyala and Andre De Grasse.
