World Athletics Road Running Championships Copenhagen 2026: Germany’s Robert Farken and Agathe Guillemot of France set world leads in the road mile

At the World Athletics Road Running Championships in Copenhagen on 19 September, Germany's Robert Farken won the men's road mile in 3 minutes 51.80 seconds, stunning Olympic silver medallist Yared Nuguse of Team USA with a powerful late sprint. France's Agathe Guillemot claimed the women's road mile title, timing her finishing kick to perfection after Ethiopia's Freweyni Hailu controlled much of the race. Both Farken and Guillemot set world leads in their respective events, giving European athletes a golden opening day at the 2026 championships.
