World Athletics U20 Championships 2026: USA's Tate Taylor and Jamaica's Theianna-Lee Terrelong fastest in the 100m first round

At the World Athletics U20 Championships 2026 on August 5 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, USA's Tate Taylor (10.05) and Jamaica's Theianna-Lee Terrelong (11.21) posted the fastest times in the first round of the men's and women's 100 metres, respectively. Taylor ran just one-hundredth of a second off his personal best set at the SEIKO Golden Grand Prix in May, while Terrelong outpaced favoured Jamaican teammate Douglas. Jamaica's Gary Card (10.07) and St. Lucia's Jady Emmanuel (11.29, a personal best) recorded the second-best times in their respective events, with semi-finals scheduled for later that evening.
