World Athletics Ultimate Championship 2026: Rumesh Tharanga wins javelin title with 91.09m throw

Sri Lanka's Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage, 23, won the men's javelin throw title at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship 2026 in Budapest with a throw of 91.09m. Grenada's two-time world champion Anderson Peters finished second with 86.18m, and Germany's Julian Weber took third with 85.89m. Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan placed fifth in the competition held at the Gyula Zsivotzky National Athletics Centre.
