World Athletics Ultimate Championship opens with record $10m prize pot

The inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship opens in Budapest this weekend, featuring a record prize pot of $10 million. The three-day competition brings together 26 Olympic champions from the Paris Games, 26 world champions from the Tokyo World Championships, and top athletes from the current season. Sweden's Armand 'Mondo' Duplantis is among the favorites, having broken the men's pole vault world record 15 times, most recently in March.
