Irish boxers Daina Moorehouse and Dean Clancy both lost their quarter-final bouts at the World Boxing Cup in Foz Do Iguaça, Brazil, ending their medal hopes. Moorehouse was defeated by Kazakhstan's Alua Balkibekova, a 2025 world champion, via unanimous decision with all five judges scoring the 51kg fight 30-27. Sligo boxer Dean Clancy lost on a split decision to Brazil's Yuri Falcao in the last eight.
