Would Hamilton's attempted one-stop have worked at the Dutch GP?
At the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix, Ferrari had planned for Lewis Hamilton to complete the race with just one pit stop, but a late virtual safety car called for debris disrupted his momentum during a charge for a podium finish. Hamilton was pushing hard to pass George Russell, who was running in third place on worn hard tyres, but the VSC pause cost him the time needed to make the overtake. A hold-up caused by Charles Leclerc earlier in the race had also hindered Hamilton's overall strategy.
