WRC Rally Portugal organisers fined for stage security breach
Rally Portugal organisers have been issued a suspended β¬15,000 fine and a reprimand by FIA stewards after two unauthorised vehicles entered stage seven (the Arganil test) during the live World Rally Championship event on Friday, May 9, 2026. The first incident involved a recovery tow truck encountered by Toyota driver Elfyn Evans, followed by a car that entered the stage and was rapidly caught by Lancia WRC2 driver Yohan Rossel, forcing officials to red flag the stage. The organising committee launched an investigation, which was subsequently referred to the FIA stewards, resulting in the suspended penalty.
