WTA ends Saudi Arabia deal early, moves Finals to Indian Wells
The WTA and the Saudi Tennis Federation mutually agreed to end their three-year deal early to host the WTA Finals in Riyadh, citing geopolitical tensions and conflict in the Middle East as contributing factors. The WTA Finals will instead be held at Indian Wells, the site of the BNP Paribas Open, under a one-year deal announced on Wednesday. WTA chair Valerie Camillo praised the Indian Wells venue, while Charlotte is considered the frontrunner to host the event the following year.
