Wyndham Clark avoids record collapse, holds on to win U.S. Open

Wyndham Clark won his second U.S. Open title at Shinnecock Hills in Southampton, New York, finishing with a 3-over 73 on Sunday for a one-shot victory over Sam Burns. Clark, who had held a six-shot lead entering the final round, saw that advantage shrink to just one shot after five holes before holding on. The win makes him the first wire-to-wire U.S. Open champion since Martin Kaymer at Pinehurst No. 2 in 2014, and his second U.S. Open title following his 2023 victory at Los Angeles Country Club.
