Xhaka returns for Swiss after fake docs case

Granit Xhaka has been restored as Switzerland captain and is eligible to play again after missing four matches following his admission of using a fake COVID-19 vaccination certificate in 2022, for which he received two years' probation and a suspended fine of 150,000 Swiss francs ($180,000). Breel Embolo, similarly implicated in a fake documents case, is also available again for selection. Both players can feature in Switzerland's upcoming Nations League matches against Slovenia on November 13 and Scotland three days later, with Xhaka set to add to his national record of 152 caps.
