Yafai's world title tilt postponed after injury

Galal Yafai's scheduled flyweight world title fight against unified champion Ricardo Sandoval has been postponed due to an injury Yafai sustained in training, marking the second time the June 6 card in Sheffield has lost its headliner after Dalton Smith also withdrew. Yafai, 33, remains undefeated in 10 professional bouts and last fought in June 2025, a loss to Francisco Rodriguez Jr that was overturned to a no-contest after the Mexican failed a drugs test. The event at Utilita Arena in Sheffield will still proceed, with Josh Padley's European super-featherweight title defence against Aqib Fiaz now topping the bill.
