Yankees call up Anthony Volpe, put Jazz Chisholm Jr. on injured list

The New York Yankees called up Anthony Volpe from Triple A and placed second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. on the injured list on Thursday. Since being demoted to Triple A on August 4, Volpe has hit .284 with 10 home runs and a 1.023 OPS. The 25-year-old former Gold Glove shortstop has been transitioning to second base, a move the Yankees believe he is ready to make at the major league level.
