Yanks put McMahon (infection) on injured list, activate Oswaldo

The New York Yankees placed third baseman Ryan McMahon on the 10-day injured list on June 24, 2026, due to a peritonsillar abscess (throat infection) that required a draining procedure earlier that morning. His IL stint was backdated to Monday, making him eligible for activation on July 3 at the earliest. To fill his roster spot, the Yankees called up utility man Oswaldo Cabrera from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
