Glasgow 2026 is credited with saving the Commonwealth Games after Victoria pulled out in 2023, leaving the event in limbo. The Games were organised from scratch in under 20 months, demonstrating that a streamlined, cut-price format can keep the event viable. Looking ahead, Amdavad 2030 in India is considering adding yoga and kabaddi to the programme as it plans its own edition.
