Zegras signs 4-year, $36.5 million contract with Flyers

Trevor Zegras, 25, has signed a four-year, $36.5 million contract with the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday, avoiding a salary arbitration hearing. The forward posted NHL career highs of 26 goals and 67 points in 81 regular-season games last season, and added six points in 10 Stanley Cup Playoff games before the Flyers were eliminated by the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round. General manager Daniel Briere expressed confidence that Zegras, originally drafted ninth overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 2019, will be an impact player for the organization going forward.
