Zidane named France coach, first job since 2021

Zinedine Zidane, 52, has been appointed as the new head coach of the French national football team by the French Football Federation, marking his return to management since resigning from Real Madrid in May 2021. He succeeds Didier Deschamps, who departed after this summer's World Cup following 14 years in charge, during which France won the 2018 World Cup. Zidane will begin his tenure with UEFA Nations League fixtures this autumn, starting with a match against Türkiye on September 25.
